4 Steps to a Perfect Workweek
07/12/2017
Is there such thing as a perfect workweek? There may not be, but there are plenty of things you can do to ensure your workweek goes as swimmingly as possible. Though we may all dread that Monday morning alarm, if you follow a regimented schedule, it’s possible to meet your workweek head-on, with a smile intact.
Here are 4 steps for creating the perfect workweek:
- Plan Ahead
We know the thought of prepping for work on Sunday night sounds absolutely terrible. If you can’t bear the thought of it, maybe find a different time for planning your upcoming workweek. Try a Sunday morning routine where you devote one hour to meal prepping and sorting through outfits. That way, come Monday morning: you’re all set.
- Remove Distractions
Distractions can seem fun while they’re happening at work, but by Friday when you haven’t completed your workload, they aren’t so fun anymore. If you’re a sucker for Twitter, remove the icon from your desktop. Give yourself the best possible chance to succeed.
- Theme Days
If you’re someone who needs some working structure (it’s a lot of people), try and theme your days. Make Monday and Wednesday the days where you take care of your worst phone calls so that Thursday and Friday are lighter on you. If you’d rather backload your week and take on the harder tasks on Friday, go for it.
- Write it Down
Paper and pen can be your best friend at work. Instead of sifting through emails and frantically trying to locate a text about an assignment you should be completing, get in the habit of bringing notepads to meetings. Write everything down as the week goes on. That way, there won’t ever be a detail that passes you by.
We know workweeks can be painful. Make them less painful with these steps.
