Top 5 Tips for Self-Improvement
07/21/2017
We all know there are a few things we could be doing to improve ourselves. But, it’s always easier said then done. It comes much more naturally for us to make self-improvement recommendations to friends and family members than it does to ourselves.
If you’re in need of some self-improvement, follow these top 5 tips for making it happen:
- Breakfast
Start your day right. If you find you’re sluggish and uninterested in your work by the time lunch comes around, it’s because you never gave your body the nutrients it needs to burn energy. Try and fit in some fruits and a protein, like eggs or meat, so you have the motivation to make it through the end of your day.
- Scheduling
No one is perfect at memorizing their schedule and sticking to it. Write it down instead. Keep a calendar at your desk and sync your email with your phone for calendar alerts. That way, you’ll never be off track.
- Breaks
You’re not a robot. It’s good to be productive and high-energy all day. But, it’s also important to slow it all down and relax. Schedule intermittent breaks throughout your workday. Our brains need time to power down and process all that we’ve absorbed over an hourly period.
- Accept the Unacceptable
This is a hard one. You need to learn how to accept things you can’t change. One massive area of self-improvement growth for a lot of people is coming to terms with this occurrence. If you find yourself hating your boss, or disliking your brother’s fiancé, instead of lashing out at these people, find a way to coexist peacefully.
- Don’t Procrastinate
There’s nothing you’ll regret more later in life than procrastinating your goals and dreams away. Face everything head on and complete your work as it’s assigned.
