Exercising doesn’t have to be the worst thing in the entire world. If, as a family, you all enjoy swimming much more than biking, then invest in a YMCA membership so you can use the pool year-round. If you’d rather stay at home, look into getting a basketball hoop, and buy some jump ropes so your kids always have an active option.

If you prioritize healthiness, your kids will notice. Set aside a time, maybe twice per week, where you get active as a family. If every Sunday at 4PM means “play outside” time until dinner, your kids will develop an exercising habit.

    This one is more for you than your children. It’s important to have fitness goals you hope to reach one day. That way, you have constant motivation to get outside and move. Your kids will notice that physical fitness is a big part of your life, and they’ll subconsciously start thinking that way as well.
  2. Nutrition Discussions:

Teach your kids at an early age about nutrition and the importance of eating right. Most importantly: you need to eat right in front of your kids. Ditch the chips and show them how yummy you find vegetables.
